Purpose

Promote and provide nurturing Christian fellowship, recreation, and health awareness to members, spiritual, and emotional support to the bereaved, and programs to preserve our culture.

Adult Ministries

Men’s Ministry

Equip all men of SJBC to fully understand and realize their divine destiny of biblical manhood and maximize their full potential for the glory of God and the good of others.

Women’s Ministry

Multigenerational women gather to meet gender specific needs, fellowship and provide ancillary events leading up to Women’s Day.

This ministry takes into consideration the needs of women in the church and meets these needs in various ways.

Family Care

GriefShare Support Group

Provide spiritual and emotional support to members and those in the community who have lost loved ones. We partner with Grief Share and offer a 13 week support group throughout the year and a Surviving the Holiday program for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one.

Funeral Repast Ministry

Provides food and fellowship for members and family after funeral services here at the church.

Kitchen Ministry

Provide oversight of all kitchen use activities in a manner that will honor and glorify God and serve to minister to His people.

New Member's Ministry

Introduces new members to our church family, coordinates Pre-Membership Class, and helps members get involved in a membership cluster and/or ministry.

Seniors (Golden Hearts)

Provide cultural and social outings, as well as educational presentations geared to enhance the life of senior citizens in our church and the community. They also coordinate a community outreach project to assist and support children returning to school.

Health and Wholeness

Provides seminars that address holistic aspects of health, especially as health issues relate to African Americans.

Honor God with your wealth, and the first fruits of all your produce. - Proverbs 3:9
