What's New at SJBC
Here are some of the exciting new ministries and classes we have recently added at St John Baptist Church:
Children’s Church
The Children’s Church at SJBC held their first worship service on Sunday, March 21st. Immediately following the Children’s Message in the normal church service, pre-registered children (identified by the wearing of wristbands), are led to their Children’s Church to participate in a worship service tailored just for them. Children hear a Word from the Lord using a variety of creative delivery options for example; sermon, poetry, music, storytelling, puppet shows, drama, dance or multimedia. Each week a different team of volunteers will combine their gifts and talents to create a unique worship experience for our children. (Each volunteer is prescreened and have had background checks.) Each service consists of six parts led by children and by trained adult volunteers: Welcome, Songs of Praise, Theme and Scripture Reading, Offering, Message, Closing Prayer
Couple’s Class
The Couple's Class at SJBC offers couples structured time to study the Bible together as a married couple on a weekly basis in a class setting. The Couple's Class is especially for the new members at St John who are not already members of other Sunday School classes. Couples study the Bible with other couples and gain knowledge, attitudes, and skills vital for successful committed relationships. The Couple's Class plans to have retreats, marriage enrichment seminars, prayer groups, date nights, and take trips that enhance couples and their families. The training is conducted by Rev. Isaac and Mrs. Ruth-Anne Mwase.
Masterlife Discipleship Training
Masterlife Discipleship Training is a 24 -week study that trains Christians to become effective followers of Christ and leaders in the church and society. The training helps them grow in four areas each covered 6-week study segments: Book One: The Disciple's Cross; Book Two: The Disciple's Personality; Book Three: The Disciple's Victory; and Book Four: The Disciple's Mission. After completion of the 24-week study, new groups will be led by the new graduates to help Christians grow and mature in their faith. Ten individuals are participating in the augural offering of Master Life. The training is conducted by Rev. Isaac and Mrs. Ruth-Anne Mwase.
