Once a month meal for the Homeless prepares a home cooked meal on the 1st Tuesday of each month for needy individuals and families at the Grassroots Homeless Shelter in Columbia, MD. |

| Food Pantry |
Through a partnership with the Community Action Council, it provides nutritional food for the less fortunate in Howard Co. The Food Pantry distributes food on the 3rd Sat. of every month and is located at the Harper House, 5495 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD.
Community Thanksgiving Dinner:Thanksgiving Dinner for the community provides community residents with a time to fellowship and share a specially prepared Thanksgiving dinner with members of the St. John family at a site in the community. The dinner is held the Sunday before Thanksgiving. |

Male & Female
Mentoring Program |
This program focuses on young males and females, of African- American descent, between the ages of 9-17. The goals are to: improve academic performance, increase social and cultural awareness, provide recreational activities, prevent school drop-outs, and provide mentees with a positive adult role model through one-on-one mentoring. |

| Christmas EveGift Giving Program |
Identifies needy families in the surrounding communities (in conjunction with local assistance agencies) and coordinates the provision of gifts (which are presented during the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service) from the congregation that is delivered to families on Christmas Eve. |

To raise public awareness of inequities of our social system as it relates to education, homelessness, voter registration and other areas of need.
Cold Weather Shelter Project

| Ministry Without Walls |
Provides outreach ministry to sick and shut-in members of the church and the community at large. Members of this ministry are extensions of the church through visitation in which those in need are offered prayer, Scripture reading, fellowship and when requested, modified worship services are provided. |
