Worship Ministry

Ministry Coordinator - Sister Sandra Keaton (443-535-9403) - sandrakeaton@hcpss.org.

Purpose: To provide effective worship opportunities that will help the congregation develop their relationship with God and live faithfully as Christians in accordance with the church's vision and mission.

Worship Planning Committee Ensure that the various sub-committees have identified members to participate in both services.( Welcome the guests, Responsive Reading, Children's Message, and Prayer for the New Church and Offering).

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service provides special Christmas Eve service to celebrate the birth of Christ and promote the spirit of giving.

Mid-Week Worship Service Power Hour offers hour-long service of prayer, testimonies, singing & inspirational messages each Wednesday evening 7-8 p.m.

Mid-Day Lunch Service(s) offers an hour long worship and fellowship service while participants enjoy their brown bag lunch.

Prayer Team Engages in intercessory prayer for individuals requesting prayer. Sis. Ella Cameron
Fellowship Sunday Service(s) Special afternoon service with a sister church to foster and enhance relationships between congregations. Fellowship dinner is provided for our guests. Sis. Terri Turner

Support Services Altar Guild/Flower Guild prepares the altar with appropriate and attractive items for worship services. Organizes and prepares the elements for 1st Sunday Communion.

Sound and Tape Ministry provides an effective sound and recording of the Sunday worship services and special meetings/events. Coordinates the sale and distribution of taped services.

Hospitality provides nutritional and light refreshments after both Sunday and special worship services in the fellowship area. Facilitates the assignment of members and organizations to host the fellowship hour. They supervise the various tasks that include setting tables, serving refreshments, and cleaning up after the fellowship time is over.

Usher's Ministry Head Usher facilitates effective communication and efficient coordination of the objectives among the usher groups and pastor.

Adult Ushers provide assistance to the new guests, regular attendees during worship services, collect the offering, and assist with communion. They are responsible for making sure the sanctuary is in proper order after each service. They serve on the 1st , 2nd, and 5th Sundays

Young Adult Ushers provide assistance to the new guests and regular attendees during worship services and collect the offering. They are responsible for making sure the sanctuary is in proper order after each service and serve on the 3rd Sunday.

Youth Ushers fosters the church's warm atmosphere while seating and supplying congregants with various items in worship on the 4th Sunday.

Parking Lot Greeters happily greet church attendees the moment they pull into the parking lot at SJBC. Individuals in the Parking Ministry direct traffic and provide a safe and friendly environment in the parking lots.

Gospel Choir Rehearsals
Wednesdays before the 1st & 2nd Sunday at 8 p.m. Sings 1st & 2nd Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service and every 3rd Sunday at 8 a.m. service.

Voices of Inspiration
Rehearsals - 2nd & 3rd Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. Sings 3rd Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Lord's Messengers (K-5th grade)
Rehearsals - 2nd & 3rd Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. Sings 3rd Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Praise Team
Leads opening praise songs at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service. Rehearsal every Sat. at 11:30 a.m.
