Membership Cluster Ministry
"Growing Smaller As We Grow Larger"

If you’ve been trying to find a way to connect with God and His family, this is your chance. In order to provide the kind of community that is necessary and desired, our church is moving toward being built on smaller communities – membership clusters. Joining a cluster is a great way to get to know each other and grow closer – to each other and God. In the cluster ministry, you will experience honest communication, deeper friendships and a growing intimacy with God. Clusters are open to St. John Baptist Church members and non-members.

Below is a list of our current clusters. For more information, you may contact the Shepherd Leader or call the church office (410-992-6977).

At St. John Baptist Church, we are moving toward being built on smaller communities called membership clusters. Joining a cluster provides a way to get to know each other and grow closer, both to each other and God. In a cluster, you will experience honest communication, deeper friendships and a growing intimacy with God.

Here are four reasons to consider joining a membership cluster – 1) you will begin to understand the Bible better in a setting where you can ask questions and have discussion; 2) you will begin to feel like a part of God’s family 3) prayer will become more meaningful to you and you will have others praying specifically for and with you; and 4) you will be able to handle stress and life’s experiences better when you have a group of Christians surrounding you.

Our membership clusters are seeking to:

Bring into community FELLOWSHIP by connecting individuals to a membership cluster and cultivating authentic relationships with one another. Hebrews 10:24-25; Ephesians 2:19

Build them up to DISCIPLESHIP by deepening the purposes of God in their lives and by helping them to grow and identify their spiritual next step. Colossians 1:28 Ephesians 4:15

Train them for SERVICE by giving every person a role of responsibility that helps mobilize them to service inside and outside their cluster. Ephesians 4:11-13; I Corinthians 12:7; I Peter 3:10

Send them out for EVANGELISM by motivating them to share their faith and ultimately spiritually reproducing their life in another (individually or as a cluster). Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 20:24; II Timothy 2:2

Lead them to a life through WORSHIP by gathering them together for true worship to the Lord (surrender, prayer, devotions, etc.) Romans 12:1-2; I Corinthians 15:58

You do not need to be a member of St. John Baptist Church to join a cluster. Clusters are open to members of the community. You may join a cluster by one of three ways:

1) Calling the cluster coordinator, Audrey Smith at 410-730-7588

2) Contacting one of the shepherd leaders

3) Or by calling St. John Baptist Church for further information
