MUSIC
As a Music Ministry we are committed to the following points:
- Personal growth toward God
Matthew 22:37-38 – Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
- Being authentic worshipers
John 4:24 – Worship God is spirit and in truth.
- Living in Community with others
Philippians 2:3 – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility. Considering others better than yourselves.
- Commitment to Kingdom Building
Matthew 6:10 – Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Music Policy and Procedure
30 Day Trial
Potential vocalists and musicians will have to go through a 30 day trial period before they can serve in any of the choirs. There will also be Music Ministry Open Houses where potential singers and musicians can fill out an application and play or sing. The process is to help maintain a standard of excellence established at SJBC throughout all ministries. Music should not be a 'catch all' ministry. Participants in the music ministry should be individuals that are Saved, committed, aware of music ministry expectations and can positively contribute to the ministry as a whole. Dates of Open Houses will be publicized in advance.
